David Sickey Elected Chairman of Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana in Runoff Victory

ELTON, LA – June 8, 2025 – David Sickey has been elected Chairman of the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana, winning in Saturday’s runoff election against Crystal Williams. Sickey, who previously served as Chairman from 2017-2021, secured victory in an election that saw strong tribal member participation.

The newly elected Chairman brings 18 years of tribal government experience, having previously guided the Tribe through significant challenges including the COVID-19 pandemic and multiple natural disasters. His plans include establishing quarterly community forums, creating Tribal Leadership Councils for broader member participation, and implementing regular feedback mechanisms to ensure responsive governance.
