Coushatta Casino Resort Donates $12,500 from Fundraiser to Benefit Melissa Doise Hope for the Miracle Foundation
November 28, 2018
KINDER, LA––During October 2018, Coushatta Casino Resort associates participated in a fundraiser to benefit a local non-profit organization, Melissa Doise Hope for the Miracle Foundation, whose mission is to raise awareness and funds to assist Jeff Davis Parish residents battling breast cancer. Casino associates who wished to donate had the option to purchase specially designed t-shirts displaying the motivational message “Support the Fighters, Admire the Survivors, Honor the Taken.” Participating associates were allowed to wear their t-shirts as part of their uniform on designated days during the month. Through generosity and community spirit, casino associates raised a total of $12,500, achieving a Diamond Level sponsorship for the Foundation’s 9th Annual Melissa Doise Hope for the Miracle Race.
Donna Richert, Foundation Boardmember, accepted the $12,500 donation from Coushatta Tribal Chairman David Sickey and Coushatta Casino Resort Director of Human Resources William Gadberry. They were joined by Sharon Doise Vincent (mother of Melissa Doise), Coushatta Tribal Councilmembers Loretta Williams, Crystal Williams and Kevin Sickey, as well as Coushatta Casino Resort Tribal Development/Associate Engagement Manager Kristen Johnson and Associate Engagement Coordinator Angela John.
Chairman Sickey commented, “It’s truly inspiring to share in the grace and generosity of our Coushatta Casino Resort associates. Being a major part of our collective culture, the reach of their hospitality is fueling the growth of so many important local causes. I am honored to witness how extraordinary our associates are on a daily basis.”
