David Hobbs Named Director of Food & Beverage at Coushatta Casino Resort

Kinder, LA––Coushatta Casino Resort announced David Hobbs has been chosen as its new Director of Food & Beverage. He brings over 25 years of experience to his position, having spent his youth in the food service industry working in family-owned restaurants in the Beaumont/Orange, Texas area.

Hobbs’ career encompasses leadership roles in several industries: culinary, restaurant management, athletics, and gaming. In addition to his culinary training and corporate management, Hobbs coached men’s and women’s basketball, winning two national titles in Women’s AAU basketball, traveled as an Olympic Head Coach to develop the sport of basketball in Australia, Cuba, Canada and the US, assumed coaching duties of a last place men’s pro league in New Zealand, leading the team to league championship the following year, and served as Head Associate Coach at University of Southern Alabama in Mobile for five years.

His service in the gaming industry centers on the Mississippi Gulf Coast market as well as Lake Charles and Shreveport/Bossier City markets in Louisiana. He served most recently as Regional Director of Hospitality for Evangeline Downs, and Director of Food & Beverage at Diamond Jacks casino in Bossier City. As Coushatta Casino’s Director of Food & Beverage, he will oversee all aspects of the resort’s ten restaurants, beverage, banquets and catering operations, and will lead the casino’s culinary team in creation of new menus and services.
