Golf Tournament Raises Over $102,000 for Charity

Kinder, LA--The 10th Annual Chairman’s Cup Golf Tournament was held on Thursday, June 2, 2011. This golf tournament is an annual charity fundraiser hosted by the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana and held at Koasati Pines at Coushatta, the resort’s award-winning championship golf course. Local and area businesses participated as sponsors and raised more than $102,000 for the Chairman’s Cup Foundation. This year’s Presenting Sponsor was HOAR Program Management from Birmingham, Alabama. One hundred percent of funds collected for the Foundation are earmarked for donations to local and regional charities.

“I would like to thank all those who participated and assisted in this successful golf tournament. With the support of sponsors, volunteers, and tribal and local communities, the Chairman’s Cup Foundation has been successful for the past 10 years,” stated Coushatta Tribal Chairman Kevin Sickey. “Once again, we are able to provide funding for the local charities and non-profit groups for the upcoming year.” added Chairman Sickey.

The night before the event, tournament participants were invited to a Hawaiian luau in the Mikko Showroom, located inside the casino. Guests were treated to a night of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and a Hawaiian luau feast. A silent auction and raffle also were held at this event with all funds raised going to the Foundation.

The Chairman’s Cup Foundation benefits local and state groups, organizations, or individuals in need. Written requests for funding by Louisiana-based charitable and non-profit groups, organizations, or individuals in need are accepted by the Foundation Board for review.
