Texas Native Brings National Experience to His New Position

Kinder, LA—Coushatta Casino Resort welcomes its new executive chef David Sorrells to oversee its culinary operations. Sorrells is a native of the Houston suburb of Cypress, Texas. His culinary career began with the Brennan family and encompasses training and service with some of the top restaurants throughout the South and West, including Commander’s Palace Las Vegas, Le Cirque in Bellagio, Le Reve in San Antonio (a Forbes 4-star restaurant), The Houstonian Hotel and Spa, and with world-renowned chef Thomas Keller at The French Laundry in Yountville, California.

“I have a great appreciation for Southwest Louisiana––its people, food, and culture. I’m excited about working with Coushatta Casino Resort and I look forward to this new opportunity,” Sorrells stated. He and his wife Heidi make their home in Lake Charles, where she is a certified audiologist at Acadian Hearing and Speech Services.
