Rock Music Icons Lynyrd Skynyrd Perform October 30 in Coushatta Pavilion
Kinder, LA—Coushatta Casino Resort proudly presents the archetypal Southern rock band, Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Lynyrd Skynyrd, Friday, October 30, in The Pavilion at Coushatta. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Show starts at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale at Ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, and Coushatta Box Office. Tickets purchased at the casino’s box office avoid additional ticketing fees, and members of the casino’s slot club receive a $10 discount.
Skynyrd exploded into the music scene in the early 1970s with a chip on its shoulder and some serious guitars. With their triple guitar attack, a wild frontman and a forceful, aggressive rhythm section, Skynyrd’s incendiary live show was full of power and grace, and simply everything great a Southern rock band could be. Thirty years later they’re still a live band no one can touch.
With their first set of new studio material since 2003’s Vicious Cycle, the band returns with God & Guns, due out September 29 on Loud & Proud/Roadrunner Records. Recorded in Nashville in 2008-2009, the project was interrupted—but, tellingly, not ended—by the deaths of founding member/keyboardist Billy Powell and longtime bassist Ean Evans earlier this year.
This Rock & Roll Hall of Fame powerhouse boasts a catalog of over 60 albums and sales beyond 30 million, remaining a cultural icon that appeals to all generations, with God & Guns a fitting addition to the canon. Today the band maintains its strong draw on the road.
