Coushatta Casino Associates Raise $9,279 in “Blue Jeans for Babies” Fundraiser Benefiting March of Dimes

Casino Receives Three Awards for Fundraising Efforts

Kinder, LA— On June 21, 2013, Coushatta Casino Resort associates presented a check for $9,279 to Martha Grant, Community Director, and Sharon Davis, Division Director, Acadiana Division, March of Dimes Foundation. During the check presentation ceremony, Ms. Grant and Ms. Davis in turn presented three awards to Coushatta Casino Resort: Gold Sponsor and Most Money Raised by a Team in the 2013 Lake Charles March for Babies, and Top Fundraising Team in the Acadiana Division in the 2013 March for Babies. The March of Dimes is dedicated to improving the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.

Coushatta associates raised $9,279 for the March of Dimes, and they did it mostly by wearing blue jeans to work. Twice a week, for a period of six weeks, associates had the option to donate $5 to wear blue jeans to work for one day. “It’s a great cause and we’re happy to help,” stated Warren Davidson, Director of Slots at Coushatta Casino Resort. “Our associates like being able to wear their jeans. They have a good time with the promotion, and they enjoy telling our guests all about why ‘it’s okay’ that they are wearing blue jeans at work.”
